The Westport Center for the Arts Brown Bag Concert Series continues Friday, Oct. 20 at noon.
with a performance by the Shortleaf Band. Their music and storytelling focuses on the history, culture and music of the Missouri Ozarks.

Shortleaf Band was founded by multi-instrumentalist and storyteller Michael Fraser, joined by his wife, Tenley. Together they weave music and storytelling into a mesmerizing blend of acoustic traditions to illustrate life, and living in the rugged Ozark Mountains. The duo takes its name from the Shortleaf Pine, the only native pine tree in Missouri, which dominates the great forests of the Ozarks.

The Brown Bag concerts are presented free (donations welcomed) and held in the sanctuary at Westport Presbyterian Church, 201 Westport Road, Kansas City, MO 64111.

Bring a lunch, if you wish. Coffee and cookies are provided at a reception following the performances.
