We have a special treat for our Brown Bag audience this month. An art show will open in conjunction with the concert, and the artist will attend a reception after the concert to talk about her art.

Gloria Heifner is a local Kansas City artist who has shown her “Audacious Women” series and her “Uterus” series, each focusing on women’s rights in the United States.

After graduating from Central Missouri State University (now UCM) with a degree in Commercial Art, Heifner worked in art departments in several Kansas City businesses and has shown her art in galleries throughout the Kansas City area, including The Leedy-Voulkos Gallery, MLB Gallery, KCKCC Art Gallery, The George R. Schlegel Art Gallery,

The show will be opening in conjunction with the Brown Bag Concert on Friday, Oct. 18. We will have a closing reception sometime in November.
