Free art workshop for children!

Children in kindergarten through eighth grade are encouraged to tap their imaginative energies and create community art masterpieces at Westport Center for the Arts “Kids Team Up for Art” Workshops (KTUFA).

The workshops are free and lead by experienced art educators. Our Art Team will focus on the completion of a group project by the end of the session as individuals build art and collaborative life skills.

Each library session will differ from the others, so children can attend all and enjoy something new at each. In the past participants have tackled watercolors, constructed unlikely towering sculptures two different ways, designed the perfect basketball shoe and pieced together spring flower mosaics.

Participants are encouraged to wear clothing suitable for working with paint, glue and other hands-on materials.

Workshops use found and recycled materials, in addition to traditional materials like paint, clay and paper. We deeply appreciate the materials provided by our partners Accessible Arts and Artist & Craftsman Supply.

Parent or guardians with children 8 years old or younger must attend the session.

Children in kindergarten through eighth grade are encouraged to tap their imaginative energies and create community masterpieces at WCA’s “Kids Team Up for Art” Workshops at selected Kansas City Public Library branches.

Each library session will differ from the others, so children can attend all and enjoy something new at each workshop.
